Halloween 2020 | Team Kuyper
If you're new around here, family costumes for Halloween are kind of our thing. While I'm not a huge fan of all things scary and "halloween", I am a huge fan of this little crew and making fun traditions and memories for them.
This year's costume was all Shane's idea...and if you know Shane, you know this ensemble couldn't be more perfect for us. Basketball is a huge part of our family's story. Shane grew up playing the game and we now own a non-profit Christian ministry, Identity Hoops International, that uses basketball as a platform to share Christ with others. So after our fifth girl, Penny, was born last year he said we needed to be a basketball team and Dash (our only boy) could be the "6th man" (the term used in the sport to refer to the next player to come off the bench to play in the game)...and thus our halloween costumes for 2020 were born!
I had so much fun searching for the pieces all over, mostly on from Amazon, and taking inspiration from the 70's during the time both of our dad's grew up playing. What I love most about all of this is how much fun the kids had doing it together. It's become something we look forward to doing and creating all year long and seeing how excited they get to dress up as a family is just the cherry on top of it all!
