Inside My Studio + 5 Things I’m Loving for Spring

It’s been a minute since I really cleaned and organized my working space but I wanted to give you a real life peek inside where the creation happens every day. Where my little ones play outside next to me while my husband is with them in the afternoon and where I dream and plan and operate behind the scenes for this little business of mine. This is what life looks like right now. Desk full of projects and flowers and coffee cups. Where orders are fulfilled off to the side and artwork is hung from my kids. And the occasional visit from my littlest one playing with boxes behind me.

I also wanted to document this as a “before” picture to show for when I clean it up and make this space a little more relaxing and inspiring-- An invite into the real life process of a wife and a mom to 6 littles who happens to be a creative artist too.

I have lots of fun things that are being worked on right now and you’re getting a first look at a new series I’ll finally be releasing later this spring! Something that has been near to my heart for a while. For now, here’s just a couple snippets of the paintings I’ve been working on coming up in my birth flower series. I’m still in the midst of making this all come together the way I’ve dreamed it up in my head and when the time is ready I’ll share more on how I came to create these pieces and what it means to me behind the artwork.

And speaking of spring--I love a little inspiration for a changing season. Whenever the temp starts to change outside I always get excited to give our home a good refresh. I listed a handful of things below I’m loving right now to inspire all your senses as you welcome the freshness of spring into your home. May it inspire and bring you beauty to remind you that you’re worthy of not only enjoying these things, but that you are meant to live and soak in the beauty that's around you.

Inspiration for Spring things:
To Sip: I found this drink on Pinterest and not only is it pretty to look at, but it sounds like the perfect refreshment to welcome in the sunny weather. I'm making these asap! Follow my Spring time Pinterest board I've created with more spring time drinks and fun things for the season.
To See: I have this Poppies watercolor print framed in our home to welcome in the brighter colors of the season. I love hanging new art in our home for the changing seasons too. An easy and simple way to refresh and give new inspiration to your home. Here's more floral art you can browse through and choose the size that best fits your space.
To Wear: I know I shared these shoes last week but I'm living in them and probably will be throughout summer too. These comfy leather sandals are the perfect addition to my closet and are each hand made by artisans in Mexico who are directly impacted by each purchase. I love the heart behind this company and all they do for supporting these artisans. You can use code COLEY10 at check out to grab 10% off your purchase which can also be applied to their sales going on too!
To Listen: I created this playlist for the warmer days ahead. Music for me is a huge part of welcoming in a mood or calming a space. When I'm painting, or making dinner or welcoming in the new day, I love to put music on in the background that reflects the feeling I want for the moment or space I'm in. Each month i send out a new playlist I'm listening to to my email listers, so if you haven't joined that yet you can do that here.
To Smell: I was gifted this candle from Anthropologie a few months ago and just started lighting it for our home. It has the perfect mix of warm and freshness that fills up our living room which I think is the perfect transition scent from colder days into the springtime season. Lighting candles first thing in the early morning hour or right before I start dinner always puts me in that cozy mood.

Thanks for being here friends!
Enjoy!
